Adobe Completes Acquisition of Topaz Labs to Expand AI Capabilities

Adobe has finalized the acquisition of Topaz Labs, an artificial intelligence business that creates video and picture enhancement models.

Topaz Labs will continue to exist as a separate brand, but its technology will be incorporated into Adobe’s products and processes for creative professionals and businesses.

Topaz Labs technology is integrated with Adobe Firefly and Photoshop, allowing users to upscale and improve pictures and videos while maintaining features from the original source. Its Neurostream technology allows professionals to process AI models using their own devices or Topaz Labs’ cloud-based platform.

The integration is also intended to help with archive film restoration, low-light picture and video improvement, high-resolution content preparation, and AI-generated video processing.

Adobe stated that Topaz Labs’ tools may also assist organizations in modernizing historical material, such as preserved films, sports video, and other media made for earlier formats and resolutions.

Topaz Labs will maintain its trademark, and its applications and models will remain available as independent products. Topaz Labs’ CEO, Eric Yang, will join Adobe’s Digital Video and Audio division.

Adobe announced plans to buy Topaz Labs in June 2026. The acquisition is now finalized.
