Truecaller has introduced Scam Checker on its website and Android app in India, allowing users to examine suspicious websites and phone numbers, as well as search for reports of frauds.
The program combines numerous fraud detection elements, such as link and phone number checks, as well as access to user-submitted Scamfeed complaints. It also allows users to explain a potential fraud in their own words and obtain relevant results, including checks for links or phone numbers mentioned in their query.
The startup stated that it intends to develop fraud Checker to include more fraud approaches and add features such as screenshot uploads, user authentication, and other capabilities.
Rishit Jhunjhunwala, CEO of Truecaller, commented on the feature’s debut, saying, “People frequently have a feeling something is wrong, but they need a quick way to confirm before reacting. Scam Checker combines our detecting capabilities with what our community has reported, allowing consumers to research a questionable link, number, or narrative in one spot.”
Scam Checker is now accessible in India through Truecaller’s Android app and worldwide via its website. The business stated that it intends to increase distribution to other areas and add iOS compatibility at a later date.
